The angle of the neck creates a pyramid type shape, forming a wide base starting at the collar-bones and gradually moving upwards, culminating with the apex of the figure- that being the crown of the head. This strategic positioning of the camera’s focal point creates an allusion to -or perhaps a desire for- a focus on the head. The head: that which houses the mind and intellect. Perhaps this, then, speaks to the true meaning behind this portrait: Your head is too small for your neck.
